Library automation

the library has received a grant from the State Library of Iowa.

The Cushing Library is pleased to announce that they have received a grant from the State Library of Iowa. We at the library wrote the grant in order to automate the library. We have started the process of cataloging the libraries complete inventory of books and audio material as well as the DVD's. This process will require many hours of volunteer work and we appreciate the people who have volunteered so far and the ones yet to work. When this is all done you the patrons of the Cushing Library and really anyone can access our library inventory. You will be able to see if the library has a certain book you would like to read if so you can see if it is in at the library and reserve it if it is not available at that time. The students going to River Valley can also access the card catalog from school or if they are on our Website they can check on something at the school library, the two systems are the same so this will be possible. We are very excited about this new feature we can offer our library patrons.

This resource is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by State Library of Iowa.
